Shower pull cord stuck on/off
WebDec 7, 2009 · The cord allows power to the shower and the extraction fan overhead so we turn shower off after every use. Yesterday evening it stopped working when herself went to shower. It refuses to jump to the ON position. I had used shower earlier but turned it off as usual afterwards. Main fuse board is fine, no fuses gone. WebSo, if your shower is drawing as much power as it's rated for (say if the incoming water is very cold, or it's a cold day and you've got the water temperature turned up), a 45A switch is actually underrated for the job it's doing. The pull wouldn’t turn it on or off when tugged. But this didn’t affect the shower up until a few days ago. Now when I press the on/off button on the electric shower box’s I can see the pull cord light go on or off so wondering could it be a job for an electrician?
WebIf it has snapped and there is no plastic joint near the top then it will also need a replacement pull cord. If it has the plastic joint then push the cord back up through the joint and remove the old cord, then thread the new cord, tie a knot, sometimes requires two knots, and pull down.
