WebThe best two, IMO, are Flying Snake and Giant Crab. Flying Snake does good damage, with Flyby, blindsight, and a swim speed. Giant Crab is a tanky boi (17 AC, up to 21 AC at 17th level without any DEX bumps or magic items), and auto-grapples a creature of any size on a hit. Blindsight 30', breathes air and water, swim speed. WebIf you filter the monsters in D&D Beyond, you will have ALL the possible animal companions you can have (I don't think you can filter out swarms, but all others are fair game).
